Ian Rapp is a Cleveland based mixed media artist, she received her BFA in Glass from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 2023. While glass is the main focus in much of her work, she has enjoyed material freedom and process expansion. Ian’s work has a strong emphasis on bold, bright color, and unique ornamentation. Her depictions of pattern stem from an interest in historical arts and culture with a focus on craft. Pattern transcends place and time, with this in mind it becomes a tool to communicate with viewers.
While developing her personal portfolio Ian works closely to support the art of local Palestinian artist Ayman Alkayali. She works part time as a studio assistant for Cleveland Museum of Art’s Studio Go outreach program. As well as a part time glassblower for Light and Reign.
Ian’s work is on view in all five restorartive boxes, May 29th—June 30th.
